Fifty-five years ago today, Jimmy Page, the legendary guitarist and founder of Led Zeppelin, fled the United States and never returned for the rest of his life. Born in 1944, Page rose from a top London session musician in the mid-1960s to join the Yardbirds in 1966 before forming Led Zeppelin in 1968 with Robert Plant, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones.
