Eric Dane, the "Grey’s Anatomy" and "Euphoria" star known as McSteamy, dies at age 53 from respiratory failure due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). A death certificate confirms ALS as the underlying cause after his battle with the disease, which he announced in April 2025. Dane passes on Feb. 19, surrounded by his wife Rebecca Gayheart and daughters Billie and Georgia. His family shares that he spends his final days with dear friends and loved ones, who remain the center of his world.
