Dogs Domesticated Before Farming, Study Shows
New research reveals humans domesticated dogs over 14,000 years ago, well before agriculture took hold in Europe. Scientists analyzed ancient DNA from sites in Switzerland, Turkey, England, and Serbia, finding dogs spread rapidly across western Eurasia during the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic eras.
